![]() Mistake to Avoid: Make sure all your points are allocated the game will not inform you if you have some extra to assign to any of the SPECIAL stats or skills. Unluckily I screwed up a couple times by making a simple mistake and traversing the unknown. There is a default character but I always set about creating my own with customized stats. Unarmed is fun and effective but not as powerful as a small guns build.First thing you will encounter when starting Fallout 2 is creating a character. I made some of my decisions based around what would be stronger in the long run vs rushing perks like action boy which is a hugely helpful perk right when you get it, as I was aiming to do nearly all content and go to a high level. This is my power gaming min-max build and I think it is pretty close to optimal. You can forgoe the 2nd life giver if you want but if you play into the 30s it ends up making you nearly unkillable. If I recall correctly that is the right order for levels 1-24. ![]() For perks I suggest doing quick pockets (though many prefer awareness), bonus move, better criticals, life giver, bonus ranged attacks, life giver, action boy, and sniper. I raise the other two gun skills eventually though as the alien blaster and bozar, among others, are insane later. I tag small guns, lockpick, and speech as there are lots of locks and speech checks and small guns are good for the whole game. You want at least 6 perception though for a perk. I split the rest with perception and intelligence, favoring int as every point is 2 skill points per level. ![]() 3 followers allow you to get the 3 best (Sulik, Cassidy, Vic) but getting 5 good ones is doable too, especially if you can get Kitsune (she has better crit chance than Jules and the other guy is only recruitable for evil characters) from the restoration project. I do charisma 8 so you can get 5 followers easily with glasses, drugs, and eventually the charisma bump chip, but some folks don't like followers. This gives 100% critical once you get sniper. 9 agility if you play with the restoration project as you can boost it by 1 pre end game, but 10 otherwise. Also, grab at least 1 level of life giver to boost your hp. Endurance 4 because you only get 1 hp per level per every 2 endurance. I prefer 4 in the long run but it is a pain at first as you are limted to the desert eagle as your best pistol that doesn't incur a penalty until you get apa. I just did a fast shot run and I prefer it now, but fast shot vs aimed shot has been debated forever, but 6 shots at 2 ap each with the gauss pistol and alien blaster do more damage at 12 ap than 3 aimed shots at 4 ap each, I am pretty sure.
